William Fredericks, MS, CPT-ACSM

My name is William Fredericks and I have been involved with athletics/health/fitness since I began gymnastics as a kid. From there I have done a little bit of everything. I was enrolled in swimming from the ages of 5-7, started tea ball around 8 and played baseball until I finished high school. I wrestled for two years in high school and played a little Pop Warner Football. Outside of organized sports, I have played a ton of pick-up basketball games, kick boxed, and most recently have become an avid golfer. As you might have guessed, I love physical activity, so much so that I have made an effort to promote and teach others how they can become active as well. I am in my thirties now and long past my prime as it relates to elite competition, but my time as an athlete and my love for sport has given me insight into what it takes to maintain a healthy body. I couple this experience with a bachelors in exercise science and a masters in nutritional science from Florida State University. I guess you can classify me as a bit of a physical activity geek. I am currently working on a PhD in health sciences and hope to become a researcher while I continue to practice as a health/fitness coach at Fit & Functional in Tallahassee, Florida. I have decided to write this blog to hopefully express not only my love for being active, but also to use the wealth of knowledge I have accumulated over the years to help others achieve a healthy happy life.
